Can I hire someone to negotiate a car for me?
Yes. That is exactly what we do. You tell us the car, or send us the link to the listing you already found, and we negotiate the price, the trade-in, and the paperwork with the dealer on your behalf. You only go to the dealership once, to sign and collect the car, or we can arrange for the dealer to deliver it to your home.
How much does a car buying service cost?
Getting started requires a simple $100 retainer, followed by a 1% success fee based on the lower of the final negotiated price or MSRP (before tax and fees). For example, on a $32,500 vehicle, you pay $100 up front and $325 upon completion ($425 total). We accept zero payouts from dealers, lenders, or manufacturers, ensuring complete loyalty to you. See our pricing page for detailed examples.
Is a car buying service worth it?
On most purchases the fee is a small fraction of what gets taken off the price, the add-ons, and the finance rate. The pricing page shows where the savings come from. If a dealer has already quoted you, send the quote, and we will tell you whether there is room left.
Do I still have to go to the dealership?
Once, to sign and collect the car. The out-the-door number is agreed on in writing before you go. If the car is coming from another state, it can be shipped to you instead.
Can you schedule test drives for me?
Yes. Tell us the car and when you are free, and we set up the test drive with the dealer for you. You go in to drive the car, and we still handle the price negotiation.
Is a car buying service the same as a car broker?
No. A broker usually charges the dealership a brokerage fee, which makes the dealership the client. We never charge the dealer a brokerage fee, and when a manufacturer incentive applies, we often pass the savings on to you. Read more in car broker vs car buying service.
Can you negotiate a car lease?
Yes, and a lease often has more room than a purchase. The selling price, the money factor, and the fees are all negotiable. The lease negotiation service covers how we handle each one.
Should I tell the dealer I have a trade-in?
Not until the price of the new car is settled. We negotiate the trade-in value as its own transaction and check it against outside offers, so a good trade number cannot hide a bad price.
Can you negotiate certified pre-owned car prices?
Yes. CPO cars have more room than most buyers assume, and the certification terms differ between brands. The certified pre-owned service covers price, history, and warranty.
Can dealers mark up my interest rate?
Yes. The lender approves you at a buy rate, and the dealer can add to it. We ask for the buy rate and check the finance paperwork before you sign. See the finance manager's office review.
Do you work with buyers in every state?
Yes. We work with buyers nationwide by phone and email. When the best deal is in another state, we handle the purchase there and the registration paperwork for your home state.
What if I already have a quote from a dealer?
Send it. A written quote shows quickly whether the dealer left room, and most have. Use our Send the Car Link form and attach the quote or paste the numbers.
How is the $100 retainer handled?
The $100 is paid up front to open the file and start the research and negotiation. It is separate from the 1% success fee, which is billed once your purchase is complete.
